Feurstein welcomes their first female industrial electrician

A pioneer in her field, Sandra Majetic is the first female to start an apprenticeship as an electrician at delfort’s location Feurstein. Since September 1, 2017, Sandra has been enriching Feurstein’s Electrical Maintenance Department. When asked why she has chosen a technical profession, she explained:

"During a school trip to the Technical Museum in Vienna, I discovered my passion for technology. I could not imagine spending the whole day at an office in front of a computer. What I like the most about my apprenticeship is the cohesion among the colleagues. In addition, the work is quite diverse and you learn something new every day."

BBeing the only woman in her team has not been an issue. Sandra feels very comfortable as she was well-received by all colleagues. She especially appreciates the atmosphere at work.

In her spare time, Sandra plays handball in the top division of “Women Handball Austria”. Her current club is “MGA Fivers”. Sandra takes the sport very seriously and is fully committed to it. This is also reflected in the fact that she trains 4 times a week. In addition, she has been a member of the Croatian national handball team for two years, which means she also participates in international tournaments. Last season Sandra was ÖHB-Cup Vice Champion with her former club St. Pölten.

OOur apprentice is the eldest of five siblings and, if time allows, she enjoys reading books on astrophysics, such as those written by Stephen Hawking. For the time being, she enjoys and looks forward to completing her apprenticeship with higher school certificate at Feurstein.

Her goal after the apprenticeship with higher school certificate is to keep her job as an electrical engineer and to get more information about technology of any kind. We wish Sandra an exciting and successful apprenticeship and we are sure that her enthusiasm for technology and education at Feurstein will take her further.
